Do I have to be in good shape before I start?No, you will get into shape as you train. We have a series of exercises that you will learn as you progress through the ranking system which will enable you to perform the self defense techniques.

I am 31 years old, am I too old to start martial arts?"No, you are not too old to begin martial arts training. Judo regularly has students start from childhood through their 50's and older. Our coaches do not expect everyone to be at the same level, there are both starters and advanced in our classes and will be taught as such.

What is the difference between Judo and JiuJitsu?Judo is a martial art that revolves around grippling techniques. In Judo one can throw, but one can also work in the ground, pin, arm lock, and choke. JiuJitsu is mainly ground work, revolved around the submission of the opponent.

I am very busy with my work schedule, how much time do I need to devote to Judo classes?"The three 1 hour classes are week are recommended, the more one comes to classes the better they will be. Practice makes perfect. Coming to clases every week also shows the head coach your devotion, and can result in quicker promotions through the ranks.

How long does it take to get a black belt?It maily depends at what age you start judo. If one starts as a kid, it will take longer to reach such a high rank, however adults tend to have different promotions. To advance to your next rank you need to show devotion, passion, character, and ability.
